^View from the second floor of the Cat Café & Gallery in Budapest, Hungary
The Cat Café & Gallery in Budapest opened in 2013, a little later after the first cat café opened in Europe. It wasn’t the first to open in Hungary, but it is one that has remained since it first opened its doors. Being a 5-hour ride away from Vienna, Budapest is one of the cities we often visit when friends are on eurotour. And we only got the chance to see the felines at the Cat Café during our last visit.
Location
The café is located a few steps away from the big basilica (St.Stephen’s). And a 3-minute walk from the train station Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út. Révay street is parallel to Andrassy ut, the famous main street of Budapest. This café only has a single door, although it may not be an issue regarding cats getting out into the streets when guests come and leave. You will be greeted by this large wood print when you enter (first photo), with the adorable faces of the resident felines saying “heyow.”
